The Full Story
With a background in psychology, alleviating problems and understanding the way we think, operate, communicate, and express ourselves has been a passion of mine since I was a youngster. While working towards my bachelor’s degree, I was a lead researcher for two unique labs and co-authored a published study (in case you’re curious, here’s the link). I gained skills in interviewing, analyzing data, professional writing, critical thinking, and working both in teams and autonomously. Additionally, I was able to increase my knowledge about how our human minds work. After graduating, I wanted to become a clinical psychologist. My ultimate goal in pursuing a career in psychology was to help people; to make lives easier, better, happier. But something was missing. As a person who is energized by creativity, clinical psychology lacked opportunities for me to express myself and use my creative side to positively impact our world.
At my core, I am passionate about both the improvement of human processes and how people interact with their environment, which in today’s world includes an ever-expanding list of tech products. I wanted to work in a problem-solution, people-centric based field allowing me to be creative, think critically, interact with research, and improve lives. Just like psychology, product design is rooted in constant evolution and ideation. As a lover of learning, environments which encourage infinite improvement and growth is where I thrive best.
